March Luncheon Guest Speakers: Legislative Candidates

Legislative Candidates spoke at the March Luncheon. From Left to Right: Jim Green (House District 23), Ritchie Whorton (House District 22), Horace Clemmons (Senate District 8), Steve Livingston (Senate District 8), and Randy Bruce Money (Senate District 8). Other candidates will be guests at the May Luncheon.

January Luncheon Guest Speakers

District 2 Director Joe McFerrin and Area 1 Coordinator Marian Wood with JCERA President Wesley Hardman. Wood and McFerrin reported on the upcoming Legislative Session.

Dan Drennan from Dan's Tours in Fort Payne was the guest speaker for the January Luncheon. He spoke to members about upcoming tours scheduled in the near future.

November Luncheon Guest Speakers

Mark Chapman from Raymond James Financial Services in Scottsbore was the November Luncheon Guest Speaker. He spoke about management of our finances.

 

AERA Vice-President Joe Ward with Marland Mountain. Ward spoke about the importance of our staying involved in the upcoming elections.

September Luncheon Guest Speakers

Guest speaker Anita Gibson (center), AEA President, said that if we do not work hard to elect more friends of education to the state legislature in 2014, we might find ourselves with no PEEHIP coverage and with any COLA's we've received over the years rescinded. Accompanying Gibson to the meeting was her mother, Nellie Lands (left). Sheila Cornelison (right), AEA Uniserve Director, was also present and spoke briefly about problems we face in Alabama before she introduced Gibson. Members were given flu shots before the meeting.

July Luncheon Guest Speakers

Marland (left) and Elizabeth Mountain (right), members, presented a program on their trip last September to Cuba. Elizabeth is holding handmade sandals and a basket and wearing a hand-crocheted sweater, all bought in Cuba very cheaply. Brenda Brown (center), JCERA Vice President is also pictured.
